Pulmonary fibrosis IS, the thickening of the lung arteries that feed oxygen to the heart. The artery becomes thick, unplyable. It is a direct result of smoking. Fibrosis of the lungs is the scarring of lungs, from smoking, pneumonia, and several other environmental hazards, such as asbestos or pollution.
Once you are diagnosed with fibrosis, there is really no cure for the condition. It will continue to get worse, with every cigarette, pneumonia, and other environmental hazards.
Not being able to breath.........is awful. Knowing there is NO CURE, is worse. Please.........don't smoke.

I am sending you my love and hugs!
What you are saying is a stark reminder of the impact of smoking.

Gene:
Oh man, I could be so much more graphic, all I really want to say is that anyone considering quitting smoking, needs to do so, no matter how hard it may seem, the freedom from nicotine is real. Life is so much better, without smoking.
